Juba, MP 05 April 2021
The Catholic Church of South Sudan has sadly announced; the passing on of the Emeritus Archbishop, Paolino Lukudu Loro in the Kenyan Capital City of Nairobi.
“My brothers and sisters in Christ and fellow-citizens of our great nation. I, your shepherd, by God’s will and design, bring to you the saddest news of my entire lifetime: My predecessor and Father, His Grace Archbishop, Paolino Lukudu Loro, a star that ceaselessly was shining over our church and nation for well over thirty years has this morning flickered out in the Kenyan Capital City of Nairobi.” In parts, the statement reads,
His Grace Loro’s passing on came only just after two days of a similar announcement of another death of Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga of Uganda who was found dead in his room last Saturday.
The death of the two eminent catholic Fathers came when Christian communities were celebrating Palm Friday and the rise of Jesus Christ from the dead.
However, Loro’s cause of death has not been yet established.
But the Catholic Church of South Sudan announced to the clergy religious community and the entire faithful of the Catholic Church in South Sudan four days mourning period.
