Jieng Council of Elders washes its hand blaming the leadership of a state failure!

Juba, PR, MP, 26 Jan. 2021

Jieng Council of Elders (JCE) a tribal non-state actor has broken silence distancing itself from the crisis currently being witnessed in the country.

In a statement seen by MP on Tuesday morning, the JCE said, inter-communal warfare, political wrangling, economic disparities, corruption, and diplomatic isolation which took the country to the brink of collapse were to blame on the state and leadership failure.

“The Jieng Council of Elders wishes to make it absolutely clear, that the crisis in the country as diagnosed by the National Dialogue is a result of a state and leadership failure and has nothing to do with the council.” The statement said,

However, the JCE said, it came into existence following the crisis of Dec. 2013 to help restore peace and order in the country, but instead, it was accused of being behind all the crisis befalling the country of which it strongly refutes.
