Abdel Wahid al-Nur rejects Gatluak’s statements as misleading
Kampala, Juba, PR, MP 09 Jan 2021
The leader of Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM-AW) Abdel Wahid al-Nur has severely criticised Tut Gatluak the South Sudanese mediator for his repeated allegations about his movement involvement in Juba peace process.
Tut Gatluak, President Kiir’s advisors on Security matters told reporters on Thursday that Abdel Wahid al-Nur was ready to talk peace and that, the Sudanese government will be told about the start of talks in Juba soon.
"Since a long time, Gatluak has continued to make such false statements, while he is not a spokesman for the Movement or one of its members to make such misleading claims," said the SLM-AW Spokesman Mohamed al-Nayer in a statement. He denied any contact with Tut Gatluak since the launch of the peace process in Juba last year.
SLM-AW however said, Juba has adopted the el-Bashir style to broker a deal on the power-sharing while neglecting the root causes of the conflict. Nyer dismissed any ties with the transitional government in Sudan.
