South Sudanese face justice for violating Quarantine order in Uganda
Kampala, Gulu, PR, MP 30 March 2020
Two South Sudanese will face justice later for violating self-quarantine order imposed by the Ugandan authorities to contain Coronavirus.
The two named, Agany Adok and William Bol were intercepted by the Ugandan Security personnel while trying to cross into South Sudan at Elegu border point in Amuru area.
The Gulu District Chairperson, Martin Ojara Mapenduzi said, Both arrived Entebbe earlier from Dubai. They sneaked out of their confinement centre in disregard of law and order. They travelled to Kampala and later proceeded to Gulu with the help of two Ugandans.
According to the sources, they were, however, tracked by the security agents and found staying with their friends and relatives in Gulu without taking precautionary procedures.
The Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson, Patrick Okema said, the two will face justice later alongside with their Ugandan helpers for violating the law.
He added saying, the security clampdown against people who disobey orders will continue so that the culprits face the long arm of the law.
Out of 2,865, Uganda has confirmed 23 cases of the Coronavirus pandemic, but no death registered so far.
On the other hand, South Sudan and Burundi are said to have remained free-coronavirus zones in East Africa.
