Chaos on Africa’s map in Ethiopia

The disappearance of Somalia from Africa’s map has caused Ethiopia to come out openly apologising for the mistake that might have caused confusion.

A controversial map on the Ethiopian Government official website revealed South Sudan has become part of Sudan, and Republic of Congo and DRC Congo showing one country. There was no trace for Somalia which became part of Ethiopia.

The Ethiopia Foreign Minister in a statement questioned how this map creped into its official website and said, “We sincerely regret any confusion and misunderstanding this incident might have caused.”

Somalian initial reaction on social media, however, showed wide anger and accused Ethiopia of having the intention to redraw Africa and annexe Somalia into its territory.

In Reaction to this development, some Somalian came out with their own maps annexing Ethiopia also into Somalia.

Observers fear that such confusion might become a recipe for a fresh conflict in the Region of Horn of Africa.
