Dagolo: No more chaos; we will deal with anarchists

The Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Military Council, L. Gen. Mohammad Hamdan Dagolo has warned that Sudan might slip into chaos.

In a press conference organized in Khartoum last Tuesday, Dagolo stressed saying: “We won’t allow chaos anymore."

Dagolo said the Transitional Military Council will not tolerate any spirit of dissent warning of consequences for those who take the law into their hands.

The Military Council is bound to protect citizens and their vital installations, but won’t accept the spirit of chaos, and will deal with anarchists according to the law. He remarked.

Dagolo revealed plans by the supporters of the Islamic laws to stage a million strong marches on the streets of Khartoum in support of Sharia, but it was turned down.

He said the Council does take responsibility to stop any plans for more chaos. Meanwhile, it will remain open for negotiation with the National Revolutionary actors, youth and other non-politicised entities in the country.

He pointed out that all attempts to resolve political stalemate were unsuccessful because the forces of freedom and change have rejected attempts by Osama Daoud and other professors from the University of Khartoum to facilitate negotiations between us and them.

He said attempts to storm into the presidential palace and blockage of bridges, including all other sabotage to undermine peaceful transition are not acceptable.  He added that there were attacks on civilians and their properties by lawless individuals.

Dagolo added saying, the Transitional Military Council will not allow any person or a group of people to take laws into their hands. He called on public members to abide by the rule of law assuring of the fair and impartial judiciary system in Sudan.
